Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SNORD74B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SNORD74B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where SNORD74B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SNORD74B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC are the cancer types where SNORD74B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
