Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SNORD115-16 RNA is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SNORD115-16 data layer compared with 2 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where higher SNORD115-16 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SNORD115-16 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
BRCA are the cancer types where SNORD115-16 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
