Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SNORA12 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SNORA12’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where SNORA12 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SNORA12 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, CHOL, and KIRP are the cancer types where SNORA12 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
