Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMYD4 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SMYD4 data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher SMYD4 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SMYD4 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
HNSC, MESO, and UCEC are the cancer types where SMYD4 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
