Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMPDL3A mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SMPDL3A data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where higher SMPDL3A mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SMPDL3A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PDAC and GBM show a favorable association.

UCEC, PDAC, and CCRCC are the cancer types where SMPDL3A mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
