Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMOC2 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 7 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SMOC2 data layer compared with 20 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher SMOC2 mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SMOC2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and LUAD show a favorable association.

CCRCC, UCEC, and HNSC are the cancer types where SMOC2 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
