Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMO Mutation is linked to patient survival in 8 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SMO data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in mesothelioma (MESO), where higher SMO Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SMO expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.

MESO, BLCA, and BRCA are the cancer types where SMO Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
