Across TCGA patient cohorts, SMO mutation is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 4,515 significant associations in total. UCEC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible SMO-associated genes across cancer lineages are COX15, TYW3, and MAIP1. Each is linked with SMO in more than 2 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both SMO-to-partner and partner-to-SMO results are reported.
