Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMN2 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SMN2 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where higher SMN2 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SMN2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
BLCA are the cancer types where SMN2 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
