Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMIM7 RNA is linked to patient survival in 26 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SMIM7 data layer compared with 3 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in uveal melanoma (UVM), where higher SMIM7 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SMIM7 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and DLBC show a favorable association.
UVM, KICH, and KIRC are the cancer types where SMIM7 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
