Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMCO4 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SMCO4 data layer compared with 28 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher SMCO4 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SMCO4 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.

KIRC and UCEC are the cancer types where SMCO4 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
