Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMARCE1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 27 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SMARCE1 data layer compared with 4 for mutation status and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher SMARCE1 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SMARCE1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and BRCA show a favorable association.
KIRP, UCEC, and BRCA are the cancer types where SMARCE1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
