Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMAD6 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SMAD6 data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), where higher SMAD6 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SMAD6 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
CESC, BLCA, and LUSC are the cancer types where SMAD6 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
