Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SMAD1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SMAD1 data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where higher SMAD1 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SMAD1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
COAD and LGG are the cancer types where SMAD1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
