Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLFN13 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SLFN13 data layer compared with 28 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher SLFN13 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLFN13 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
HNSC, UCEC, and SKCM are the cancer types where SLFN13 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
