Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC7A1 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SLC7A1 data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher SLC7A1 mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC7A1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and UCEC show a favorable association.
HNSC, LUAD, and UCEC are the cancer types where SLC7A1 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
