Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC6A20 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SLC6A20’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where SLC6A20 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SLC6A20 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, KIRC, and LUSC are the cancer types where SLC6A20 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
