Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC6A16 RNA is linked to patient survival in 20 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SLC6A16 data layer compared with 7 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher SLC6A16 RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC6A16 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRP and UVM show a favorable association.
KIRP, UVM, and LGG are the cancer types where SLC6A16 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.

Ranked by sampling consensus. AUC1 and AUC2 indicate survival in the high- and low-expression groups, respectively; the lower AUC marks the poorer-surviving group. p-values are from the log-rank test.
