Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC5A4 RNA is linked to patient survival in 25 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SLC5A4 data layer compared with 11 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher SLC5A4 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC5A4 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and HNSC show a favorable association.

KIRP, COAD, and KIRC are the cancer types where SLC5A4 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
