Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC39A5 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SLC39A5 data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where higher SLC39A5 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC39A5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
BRCA, STAD, and UCEC are the cancer types where SLC39A5 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
