Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC39A5 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SLC39A5 data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher SLC39A5 mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC39A5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and PDAC show a favorable association.
CCRCC and PDAC are the cancer types where SLC39A5 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
