Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC39A10 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SLC39A10’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where SLC39A10 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SLC39A10 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
HNSC, COAD, and KIRP are the cancer types where SLC39A10 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
