Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC38A3 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SLC38A3 data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher SLC38A3 mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC38A3 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
HNSC are the cancer types where SLC38A3 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
