Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC22A4 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SLC22A4 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher SLC22A4 mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC22A4 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and GBM show a favorable association.
CCRCC and GBM are the cancer types where SLC22A4 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
