Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC22A25 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SLC22A25’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where SLC22A25 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SLC22A25 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and CHOL show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, CHOL, and BRCA are the cancer types where SLC22A25 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
