Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC1A5 RNA is linked to patient survival in 26 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SLC1A5 data layer compared with 5 for mutation status and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uveal melanoma (UVM), where higher SLC1A5 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC1A5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as STAD and COAD show a favorable association.
UVM, MESO, and LIHC are the cancer types where SLC1A5 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
