Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC1A2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SLC1A2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where SLC1A2 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SLC1A2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, KIRC, and BRCA are the cancer types where SLC1A2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
