Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC19A3 RNA is linked to patient survival in 23 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SLC19A3 data layer compared with 5 for mutation status and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), where higher SLC19A3 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC19A3 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as MESO and PAAD show a favorable association.
CESC, MESO, and UCEC are the cancer types where SLC19A3 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
