Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SLC17A3 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SLC17A3 data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 8 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher SLC17A3 mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SLC17A3 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC show a favorable association.
CCRCC are the cancer types where SLC17A3 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
