Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SIK1B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SIK1B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where SIK1B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SIK1B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, BRCA, and KIRC are the cancer types where SIK1B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
