Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SIGIRR RNA is linked to patient survival in 26 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SIGIRR data layer compared with 2 for mutation status and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher SIGIRR RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SIGIRR expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and BLCA show a favorable association.
HNSC, BLCA, and CHOL are the cancer types where SIGIRR RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
