Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SHPRH RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SHPRH’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where SHPRH RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SHPRH is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, KICH, and BRCA are the cancer types where SHPRH tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
