Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SHH Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SHH data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 1 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where higher SHH Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SHH expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as COAD show a favorable association.

LUSC, ACC, and SKCM are the cancer types where SHH Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
