Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SHD RNA is linked to patient survival in 24 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SHD data layer compared with 4 for mutation status and 1 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), where higher SHD RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SHD expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CESC and KICH show a favorable association.

CESC, ACC, and KICH are the cancer types where SHD RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
