Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SHANK2-AS1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 15 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SHANK2-AS1 data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher SHANK2-AS1 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SHANK2-AS1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LGG and THYM show a favorable association.

HNSC, LGG, and CESC are the cancer types where SHANK2-AS1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
