Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SH2D6 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SH2D6’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where SH2D6 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SH2D6 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, THCA, and COAD are the cancer types where SH2D6 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
