Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SH2D3A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SH2D3A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where SH2D3A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SH2D3A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KICH, and THCA are the cancer types where SH2D3A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
