Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SH2D2A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SH2D2A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where SH2D2A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SH2D2A is over-expressed in tumor.
HNSC, KIRC, and STAD are the cancer types where SH2D2A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
