Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SETD9 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SETD9’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where SETD9 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SETD9 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and READ show the opposite, repressed pattern.

UCEC, COAD, and STAD are the cancer types where SETD9 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
