Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SEPTIN14P8 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SEPTIN14P8’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where SEPTIN14P8 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SEPTIN14P8 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, PAAD, and KIRP are the cancer types where SEPTIN14P8 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
