Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SELENOW mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SELENOW data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where higher SELENOW mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SELENOW expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PDAC show a favorable association.

UCEC, GBM, and LSCC are the cancer types where SELENOW mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
