Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SELENOS RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SELENOS data layer compared with 1 for mutation status and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uveal melanoma (UVM), where higher SELENOS RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SELENOS expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and OV show a favorable association.
UVM, KICH, and ACC are the cancer types where SELENOS RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
