Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SEH1L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SEH1L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where SEH1L RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SEH1L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

STAD, LIHC, and HNSC are the cancer types where SEH1L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
