Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SCX RNA is linked to patient survival in 23 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated SCX data layer compared with 1 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher SCX RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SCX expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BLCA and PAAD show a favorable association.
KIRC, UVM, and ACC are the cancer types where SCX RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
