Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SCGB1D2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SCGB1D2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where SCGB1D2 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SCGB1D2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, THCA, and KICH are the cancer types where SCGB1D2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
