Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SBSPON Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SBSPON data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher SBSPON Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SBSPON expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
SKCM and UCEC are the cancer types where SBSPON Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
