Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SBSPON mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated SBSPON data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where higher SBSPON mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated SBSPON expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LSCC show a favorable association.

LUAD, CCRCC, and PDAC are the cancer types where SBSPON mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
