Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SBF2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SBF2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where SBF2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SBF2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as UCEC and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, UCEC, and BRCA are the cancer types where SBF2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
