Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, SAMD15 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of SAMD15’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where SAMD15 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types SAMD15 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, KICH, and THCA are the cancer types where SAMD15 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
