Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, S100A8 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated S100A8 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where higher S100A8 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated S100A8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
LIHC are the cancer types where S100A8 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
